Gucci must have read what we wrote about Lapo Elkann at the recent Oscars Vanity Fair Party - Here. Because, this June sees the debut of a unique made-to-measure capsule collection designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini and Lapo Elkann. This exclusive collection, conceived as 'Lapo's Wardrobe,' will be offered within Gucci's made-to-measure programme.
'Lapo's Wardrobe' collection will initially be available at Gucci's boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Sao Paulo, where specialised staff will assist the client throughout the fabric selection, fittings, finalisation and delivery of the garment, which can require from 4 to 6 weeks.
Lapo Elkann says, 'I am excited and honoured that the Lapo's Wardrobe project is being brought to life by Gucci, which is synonymous for Italian excellence and craftsmanship. It was a great experience to build this capsule collection together with Frida: we share a love and respect for tradition, yet we are not afraid to dare and experiment. It is the combination of both that I believe is exemplified in the pieces we designed and created.'
TheChicGeek says "We're massive fans of Lapo's style with him being the perfect example of a well-dressed Italian playboy, so it's very clever of Gucci to muscle in on his style. The two are a good match.
"Lapo is part of the Fiat car dynasty and wears his grandfather's extensive wardrobe. He is known for his double breasted jackets and love of colour."
