You could just use it as a moisturiser as it contains plenty of moisture type benefits. Lastly, just because it’s a high factor, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t reapply. You sweat, swim and miss bits, so reapply every two hours.”

Watches are an accessory that can really finish off an outfit, and while wearing an expensive time-piece is a real power move, it is important to consider your lifestyle and which type of watch would be the most appropriate for you. If you are generally quite active you may not get much use out of a designer watch, for example, whereas those who like to socialise in the evenings would have no use for a sports watch.
To ensure you pick a watch that can be worn regularly and proudly, it is important to follow the advice offered by the experts. Reading over this ensures you will understand exactly what the many different types of watches offer throughout your buying journey.
What makes you tick?
There are several different types of methods and mechanisms to make a watch function:
An automatic calibre works using kinetic energy — regular movement from the wearer winds the mainspring, which allows the hands to keep moving. Automatics can be spotted by the second hand floating around the face of your watch, as opposed to ticking.
Quartz timepieces use ready-made calibres and are battery powered, which means they can last a lot longer and are more accurate, but are not as interesting. These are looked down upon by watch snobs, but are actually a far more reliable watch. The second hand ticks. While the battery does have a long life, it will eventually need to be replaced.
What is your style?
An age-old idiom is that ‘the least important thing a watch does is tell the time’, and high-end watch distributors would tend to agree with this. Watch expert Burns Jewellers identifies three distinctive styles of watches, and categorises them based on appearance and the materials used in the watch’s construction.
A dress watch is identified by its plain, thin case and its large hands. These formal watches usually feature a leather strap and have gold bezels, mineral glass, and perhaps even titanium casing. These watches are great for evening events or formal occasions — a classy and elegant option.
A designer watch is more lavish than a dress watch, and the wearer is usually looking to make a statement by wearing one. Designer watches cannot be described generally, as they are individual to that particular brand’s trademark styling. However, they usually feature a gold or other precious metal strap, with a vibrant-coloured face for maximum visual impact.
A sports watch is hard-wearing and usually water resistant, so is made from a combination of stainless steel, rubber, and scratch-proof glass. The face usually features thick, clear numbers and is usually fitted with a compass or another cool gadget.
Hopefully, by knowing exactly the type of watch you’re looking for, you’ll find choosing the perfect piece much easier and more enjoyable.

And, even though an added cost, I like the logic of replacing the heads. It comes with 2 blades in the box, which it says lasts up to 8 months. So, that’s 3 blades a year, if you use this intensively. Each refill head is £11.99 or £19.99 for 2.
Aimed at younger guys - it’s reflected in the price - it does come with tool heads to vary the length of the hair. But as usual, as with all these trimmers, they are really plasticky and take away an element of control. It gives you a decent cut on the sides of the face. Where it does struggle though, is the chin, as it has limited flexibility on what is quite a big blade head and can’t really follow the contours of the face. I tried to trim my moustache. I just wanted a simple, straight line above the top lip, and its limited strength and thus control on longer, coarser hairs made it not as neat as I would like.
I do like the fact it is waterproof so you can rinse under the tap and that it looks more like a trimmer designed in the age of Apple or Dyson. This is definitely a step in the right direction design-wise, it just needs more strength and greater flexibility, but you could buy worse for the money.”

If you’re lucky enough to be able to afford bespoke shoes you may have heard of Carréducker before. Founded by James Ducker and Deborah Carré in 2004, Carréducker’s shoes are lovingly handmade in their small workshop near Holborn. These babies cost upwards of £3000 a pair and are usually found in the sartorial home of Gieves & Hawkes at No.1 Savile Row.

So, for us on a slightly more regular budget, Carréducker, has now launched a new accessible range called Carréducker London.
A Kickstarter success story, they’ve started with a formal slip-on slipper and plan on expanding the brand into many classic men’s styles with further Kickstarter funding.
Using existing pockets of British artisanal manufacturing to make each style, the aim is to build a steady flow of orders, breaking the peaks and troughs, and supporting the skilled local workforce throughout the year. They will make short runs of several different styles and colours, offering customers from around the world the very best of British footwear design and manufacture through their online ‘Shoe Shop’.
The first, Winker, style is made using Designers Guild upholstery fabric. Made in Sheffield in 9 colourways with different fabric finishes, they are leather-lined with a padded sock for comfort and with a leather heel and sole.

The eyebrows are, clearly, now, a thing, well, if you subscribe to the Tom Ford school of grooming, it is. He’s launched a few new products as well - Shave Oil and Exfoliating Energy Scrub - but the most interesting and novel is the ‘Brow Gelcomb’.
“Simply twist the bottom and out comes a dark grey gel on to the comb part of the wand. I was worried - I have ginger brows - that the colour would darken them, but this wasn’t the case and they quickly dried without being sticky or noticeable.
According the blurb, it is 'designed to groom and refine while giving balance and symmetry to a man’s most masculine facial features'. This is for the man who has everything, so, again, that’ll be Tom Ford.
