Oxford Shirt - This is a shirt with a buttoned down collar. It originally started on the polo field in England, players fastened the collars to the shirt with buttons to stop it flapping in their faces while playing. John Brooks of Brooks Brothers saw this and took the idea back to New York adding the detail onto the shirt in 1896 and the classic American staple was born.
