TheChicGeek says, “This looks very natural: a soft, jelly-like consistency, orange in colour, with little bits in it, it goes on easy like a light gel. It doesn’t smell particularly strong, a slight lemon scent and you leave for 5 minutes, then rinse off. All at night.
The website says ‘Use 1-3 times a week’ while the packaging says ‘Once Weekly’.
Leaving on for only 5 minutes and using once a week makes you think it’s quite a powerful product which seems to go against its natural appearance. 'Brightening' often means lightening, so this could be the more serious side of the product, but it would be good if there was more explanation.
It is said to exfoliate, brighten and moisturise. My skin definitely felt clean and cleansed - that’ll be the AHAs - when I got into bed after using this. They do recommended you apply SPF the day after.
I’d like to try this more to see if there were anymore noticeable differences other than that fully cleansed feeling.”
Perricone MD has launched this new face mask that is designed to be used in the shower. How is a mask meant to be used in the shower you ask? Well, while you're shampooing, shaving, lathering up, the heat and steam of the shower activates the ‘Refreshing Shower Mask’ gel formula. And as an added bonus, it’s designed to protect your face from hot water, and the gel consistency clings to your face, so it doesn't wash away.
The purpose of the mask, which has a cooling factor, is to revitalise leaving skin feeling smoother and softer, while using Dr Perricone’s Nrf2 Antioxidant Support Complex to support your skin when fighting off environmental and oxidative stress. Ingredients such as squalene and jojoba are included to moisturise and increase skin elasticity.
TheChicGeek says, “Now this is a mask idea I can get on board with. Anything that is easy to use and effective will make it into a man’s regime. Men like to try and multitask, even if they are bad at it. Move over sheet mask, we’re going ‘in-shower’!
Firstly, it doesn’t suggest how often you should use this, but it seems quite gentle, so I’d say maybe twice a week. It’s a green gel, not too thick, and goes on easily. It’s tempting to just wash it off, like you would normally a face wash, but you resist. Resist I say! It does also depend on how long your showers are, but by the time you’ve washed your hair and body it should be pushing 5 mins. *checks hot water bill* It does warn it may tingle in a cooling way, but I didn’t feel any reaction.
It didn’t ‘set’, or change and washed off easily, which is usually quite satisfying with a mask. The end result: my face felt extra clean and well prepped afterwards”.

Left - Maskorea - Instant Glow Sheet Mask - £7.99 from Amazon or www.maskoreamasks.com
A unique 3-step product that includes a foaming pre-mask wash, a serum-infused cellulose face mask and a luxurious post-mask anti-ageing night cream to provide a total regime for ultimate results.
TheChicGeek says, “Thanks to Instagram and the American Psycho/Patrick Bateman-type image they have on the wearer, these sheets have become more popular, recently.
There’s not much the Koreans don’t know about skincare so you feel like you’re in a safe pair of hands.
Right - Patrick Bateman or The Chic Geek?!
The mask comes in three parts: a cleanser which is a soft, soapy cleanser, the mask, which is really wet, but that helps it cling to your face - the facial hair parts it struggles with though - and then a gel-like after treatment of anti-ageing night cream.
Men like a one off treatment and this is easy to use and not messy. Some masks, particularly clay types, take ages to wash off and get into your hairline.
You leave the mask on for the 30 mins, so this isn’t a rush job. The anti-ageing night cream is quite tacky and leaves you with the 'Instant Glow' as promised. My skin felt cleaned and fresh. Next time I would shave first and then apply so it sticks to those areas better. This would be a really nice treatment after a day at the beach or a hot day. Put the mask in the fridge and use it extra cold.
Now, where did I leave that chainsaw?!”
Clinically demonstrated to minimise the damaging effects of pollution on skin, the nourishing formula of cilantro - coriander - and orange replenishes vital nutrients. The masque defends and replenishes skin leaving it renewed, radiant and more prepared to protect itself from daily environmental aggressors.
TheChicGeek says, “The instructions for this ‘masque’ recommends applying a visible layer to clean skin. Leaving on for 5 minutes and gently wipe off with a tissue or cotton wool pad.
I didn’t think this was something guys would do, so I was told to apply a thin, visible layer just before bed and leave on overnight. It is recommended for use three times per week at night.
The coloured jar makes this look more radioactive than is actually the case. The thick, green formula goes on easily and I applied a decent layer before bed a couple of times a week.
My skin definitely looked and felt ‘fed’ after using this. By the morning, it’s gone and you continue with your usual grooming regime. You may go to bed looking like the Incredible Hulk, but you certainly don’t wake up like him”.
